The quick version
- Your challenges, savings and settings live on your device.
- We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't sell your data.
- PiggyBinder doesn't connect to your bank. You record the amounts yourself.
- If you turn on iCloud, a backup is stored in your own iCloud.
- We use basic analytics and crash reports to keep the app working.
1What we handle
PiggyBinder is a savings-challenge app. To work, it stores the information you enter:
- Your display name and, optionally, gender, birth date, country and a profile picture.
- Your challenges: titles, emoji or icons, goal amounts, deadlines, frequency and the deposits, skips and withdrawals you record.
- Your settings: currency, theme, reminder time and notification choices.
- Progress inside the app: Piggy's level, coins, badges and accessories.
- Technical information described in section 4.
We do not collect your bank details, card numbers or account balances.
2What stays on your device
The information above is saved in a database on your phone. It isn't sent to our servers because PiggyBinder doesn't need an account or a backend to run. If you delete the app, or use Reset data in your profile, that data is removed from the device.
If you add the PiggyBinder widget to your Home Screen, the widget reads a small summary of your progress from storage shared with the app on your device.
3iCloud backup
The app can back up your data to your private iCloud storage so you can restore it on a new device. That backup is handled by Apple and tied to your Apple ID. We can't read it. Apple's own privacy terms apply to iCloud. If you don't want a backup, turn off iCloud for the app in iOS Settings.
4Analytics & crash reports
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. These services may collect technical and usage information such as device model, operating system version, app version, general location derived from IP address, and an app-instance identifier. They don't receive your challenge names, amounts or profile details from us.
Read more in Firebase's privacy information.
5Permissions the app may ask for
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Notifications | Daily reminders and gentle nudges you choose to turn on. They are scheduled on your device. |
| Photos | Only if you pick a profile picture from your library. |
| Camera | Only if you take a profile picture. |
You can change any of these at any time in iOS Settings.
7Children
PiggyBinder isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us so we can address it.
8Your choices
Because your data lives on your device, you control it: edit or delete challenges, reset all data from your profile, remove the app, or turn off iCloud and notifications. For analytics data or any other privacy question, contact us and we'll help. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, such as access or deletion.
9Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll change the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
